My restaurant review about Hungarian dishes!

Hello:)
I write this blog at 6 a.m., because I didn't do my homework during the winter vacation!
How lazy I was!!I regret my laziness...

Anyway, here is my restaurant review.

On December 22nd, I went to “GERBEAUD” with my friend, Mizuka. This restaurant is famous for Hungarian dishes which are novel in Tokyo. This restaurant is located on the second floor in AO building, Omotesando. It takes us within 10 minutes to go there from our university. On the second floor, there are many boutiques, so the atmosphere is rich and stylish.

When we arrived at the restaurant, a waiter guided us to the seat soon, and we sat by a widow. He wasn’t Japanese, but he could speak Japanese fluently. As to other customers, there were many foreign customers who spoke not only English but also Hungarian. So the bilingual waiter was needed at the restaurant.
Before we ordered cuisines, the waiter brought menu, water, and small damp towels within a minute! At the restaurant, jazz music was played and the volume was acceptable. The restaurant’s temperature was nice, but there were lap blanket on the chair which we could make free use of.

Although the restaurant serves Hungarian dishes, we can also enjoy other dishes, like pasta and omelet. However their recommendation is of course Hungarian dishes, so we ordered them. The Hungarian dish, which is called Goulash, is made of paprika, beef, and potatoes. And we can eat it with Langos which is fried bread.

After we ordered them, our drinks were served within 5minutes. And within another 5minutes, salad, garnish, and main dish were served. Salad’s taste was so nice, and its dressing was like onion taste. As to garnish, it was made from potatoes and seasoning may be mayonnaise. Main dish, Landos and Goulash, seated in white and strange shape dishes. The temperature was proper and the smell made me so hungry! As to Langos, sour cream was on the fried bread and looked like pizza. The texture was not so crispy, but springy. And it was fried, but I didn’t feel it was greasy. Moreover Goulash tasted like tomato, but its smell was like paprika. There were so many vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, and green pepper. And beef was cut into square, so we can be satisfied with the volume as well.

While we enjoyed the dishes, the waiter came us again and again to pour water. And he cleared dishes which we finished eating. I thought these services were so good and made me want to come there again.
After we enjoyed lunch, we could pay money separately. These days some restaurants refer to pay money individually, so I thought that point was also good. And many waiters said thank you cheerfully.

Overall, I became to like the restaurant, and I want to visit there again to eat other dishes. We didn’t try desserts this time, but they recommended them to us, so I’m looking forward to eating them next time. Their atmosphere, dishes, and service were really nice and I surely recommend you to try Hungarian dishes at the restaurant.

My analysis of restaurant review

Happy New Year!
And long time no see. I'm sorry about that.

As to my winter vacation, I went to Kyoto with my family and I really enjoyed the trip!
I recommend you to visit there in winter. The snow is sometimes  too heavy to make us bother, but it's also very romantic, I think.

Then today, I'll tell you about my analysis of restaurant review.
First one is written report which source is here.

"The pleasures of pasta at cozy Corretto"

‘Does the reviewer shoe any special “insider” knowledge of the chefs or the restaurant’s plans for the future?’

The reviewer told us that executive chef fashions the ravioli and gnocchi by herself. This information may not be known by so many people, and if we know that, we’ll become to want to eat them. However the restaurant’s plan wasn’t written in the review.

‘From the type of restaurant being reviewed and from the style of writing, what would you guess about the readers of this newspaper (their socioeconomic level; their level of education; their tastes)?’

I think the readers and customers who will go to the restaurant are knowledgeable, and rich people. This is because in the review, there are so many technical terms like materials, ways to cook, and names of dishes. Especially there are a lot of names of pasta, so if we don’t know them, we have to search each. Then I think readers’ socioeconomic level may be high. They may like to eat good dishes and don’t mind so much paying money to enjoy them. Moreover they can be familiar with materials and dishes, so I think their level of education is high as well. However from the menu of this restaurant, we guess the dishes aren’t so expensive; for example we can enjoy Lasagna at $17. So the customer may be diverse.

Next one is video report.
The source is here.

"Babu Indian and Sri Lankan Cuisine Restaurant Review"

‘What is focused on in the review?’

The reviewer tends to focus on how dishes are novel and delicious, I think. The kind of dishes is Indian and Sri Lankan, so many people who watch the video may not experience. Then he emphasizes it was first time for him to eat their dishes. Moreover though the dishes aren’t so popular, their taste is so nice, he said. He cooks some dishes by himself to report the recipes. And he also asks a worker that why the shop started and what the good points of them is, because he want many people to know the interesting food restaurant.

‘Is the review neutral or partisan?’

I think the review is partisan. This is because certainly the reviewer said some dishes are a little spicy, but almost all of the time, he told us how delicious, novel, and absorbing the dishes are. Except the comment that the dishes are kind of spicy, he emphasized the price is cheap, and we can enjoy dishes every day because we can combine any menus. I think he said their advantages too much. I want to know the points which the store is worse than other restaurants and which we have to pay attention to.

introduction of a video

Hello!
These days it's colder and dry, and we may easily catch a cold. We have to keep ourselves warm!

And today, I went to Sakura-terrace in Iidabashi, which opened on October 10th.
I enjoyed loco-moco at PCH cafe bar dine with my friend! It was delicious and I recommend you to drink lemonade.

Anyway today, I'll introduce a short video from YouTube.

The girl's name is Aimee Corner, she is nineteen years old now. She has had eating disorder since she was only eight years old. In the video, we can know how she is recovering from eating disorder.
She were suffering from ED, for example she was bullied and couldn't go to school. Moreover her family didn't know she was anorexia, so her condition were getting worse.
However now, she tries to increase her weight gradually. She said, now she wants to help other anorexics.

I was very moved by this video, so if you have enough time, please watch it!

About NeversSconds

Then, next I’ll tell you about my thinking of reading “NeverSecond”.

I think what she has accomplished are great, because she was only 10 years old and usually at this age, children cannot get this idea to search about school lunch in the world and to do something for some countries which are suffering from poverty. Moreover her blog is interesting even if adults read it. There are many pictures and she wrote plain English. The layout is also easy to compare pictures.
As to my school lunch memories, actually I ate them until I was an elementary school students. At that time, I was usually looking forward to the lunch time, because the lunch were used many local food, like mikan, ills, and so on. However I had much dislike food, so sometimes I felt depression. After graduating from the elementary school, my mother had made lunch for 6 years, because my junior high school and high school was private. At that time I was always happy to eat my lunch, because there were no dislike food in it. However my mother was always thinking about nutritious lunch and to make it, she had got up at 5 for 6 years. I thank my mother very much.
I did not feel that I had any input of something of my school lunch, because I’m always satisfied with the taste and have never thought of these kinds of things. However I have to think about it to support my good health.
I did not know about AGU’s dining facilities so much, but I know TFT (Table For Two), because my friend belongs to the club about it. This system may be that we can support countries which are in trouble about lack of food if we eat some lunch at AGU. I use this system some times. The taste of lunch is delicious, so I think it’s no problems to select the lunch. It’s good facility, because not only we can enjoy delicious lunch but also some people in poor countries will be helped.

I think it’s difficult to help others in the world less fortunate than us especially in connection to food. However I think we can use TFT system firstly. It’s good system both of us. Moreover I’ll try not leave food, or order little. To waste food is big issue in the world especially developed countries. If we continue to do that, amount of production will be increasing and the poor countries’ people will be involved in the issue. I think the smallest thing which we can do every day to help others is this way.

Analyzing of my book1

Hello!
These days are getting colder and colder. I live in a dormitory, so I'm so happy that dinner waits for me to come back to the dormitory. Especially today, the menu was Tan-Tan Men! It was hot and of course delicious.

Anyway, I totally forgot to write about my book. And I couldn't read the book enough because of lack of time. I read only 10 pages during last week..  I'll read more than 10 pages until nest Tuesday, so please wait ;(

Then I’ll tell you about my book.
The writer, Jenni had an eating disorder, and she were suffering from it, for example she gave up to study to become a doctor and selected to sing a song, because of ED. Moreover she had to cancel her wedding, though it would be the next day, because she thought she could not believe she can spend good wedding life with the eating disorder. The she tried to divorce not only her husband (It’s not true, because she did not get married.) but also her eating disorder.
The hardest time for her to recover from ED was written in her first book, “Life without ED”, and she said this time was “significantly recovered” time for her. And in this book, she wrote the time of “fully recovered”. I’ll explain the meaning.
This meaning is “having a healthy relationship with her body, as well as finding joy and peace in my life” for her. To achieve this state, she did many things (I don’t know in detail, because it was written in her first book.), and at first she could recover from ED completely. However she noticed that she paid attention to ED not to return ED. And this means her effort could not pay off. Moreover at the time, her father got a cancer, so her condition was getting worse, too.

So in this book, she wrote how to recover from ED fully, for example we should depend on some professional help. She also ask to help her to therapist and so on. She told us that we could not overcome ED without them.

After I read this section, I think she got harder experience than I thought. I imagined that ED is not so serious disorder, but it changed her life more than once. It was amazing for me. I could not think I give up my dreams because of a disorder. When I selected this book, I wanted to know he feeling and story of people who have the ED, so I think I can learn it gradually.

This is all that I read so far. Next section will be about her first experience to recover from ED fully. I’m getting interested in her book, so I’ll try to make time to read it.

Analyzing a food blog

Hello. Thank you for you r visiting my blog.
I'm sorry to be late to update my blog. Actually, I caught a cold and I had to rest. I had a fever, had a sore throat, and couldn't stop coughing. It was hard to get over a cold completely, so please be careful not to get a cold!!

Anyway, I'll introduce a blog to you today. A blog's name is "Veganricha", which is for vegetarians. The blogger is from India and she is a vegan.

Quality

I think her blog's quality is very high. This is because she introduces many recipes with a lot of pictures and explains them in detail. We can cook her dishes easily which doesn't use meat, gluten, grin and so on. She sets that we can print out her recipes, so we don't have to write then down. Moreover it's easy to research recipes, because she itemizes them, like burgers, Indian main dishes, and desserts.

Usefulness

As I wrote, we can print out all of her recipes and research them easily. Moreover when we have a problem with the recipes, we can write comments on her blog. And she always write back to us. I think it's a good point of her blog, because we can ask her freely.

Visual attractiveness

When we look at her blog, we can immediately understand the way of cooking her dishes, because she takes many pictures per recipe and lays out adequately.

Accessibility of  the language

Her English is easy to understand, but this is a blog of recipes, so sometimes there are difficult words, like yeast, canola, and so on. However if we cook her dishes many times, it will not be a problem, I think :)

How interesting is it to you personally?

I think it's very useful that we can easily move to other sites which are related to her dishes. So we can immediately know what should we buy to make her dishes.
Then, I really enjoyed her blog, and I want to try some her dishes if  have a chance! I think her blog attracts not only vegans but also other people like me :)

I'll introduce my book

Hi! I'm Kyoko. Today I'll introduce my book.

Title: goodbye ed, hello me
Author: Jenni Schaefer
Year of publication: 2009

This book is about eating disorder. The author suffered from the disorder, so she tells us what's the ed and how to get over the disorder in the book. Moreover she wrote why she had it and what she thought about it, so we can know how hard to cure it.

First of all, I want to tell you the reason  why I chose the book. This is because, I want to know the ed deeply. In my opinion, eating is the most important thing for us, but there are some people in the world who have trouble about eating. I'm interested in knowing what they think about ed and food. So I'm really attracted the book and I'm looking forward to reading more pages.

In the first section, she wrote why she got the disease. She said it was an unconscious thing. She didn't think she got ed, but in fact she did. (However she knew the truth later.) And the reason why she noticed the truth was to meet people who also had ed, she wrote.

After I read the section, I felt a little fear, because her experience means we may have ed easily and unconsciously. If we get it, the greater part of us can't notice and recognize it at first. Just a little thing may make us get ed, I think.
